Unsurprisingly, Max Verstappen has won the last two races at Imola and already holds a 33-point lead in the World Drivers’ Championship this season, but it was a maiden victory that took the headlines in Miami.
Lando Norris claimed his first-ever Grand Prix victory two weeks ago with a sensational drive in Miami, with that triumph coming on his 110th Grand Prix start.
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Tips
Charles Leclerc To Finish on the Podium
McLaren took what turned out to be race-winning upgrades to the Miami Grand Prix two weeks ago, but now it is time for Ferrari to join the party with an upgrade package of their own.
In the first of two races in their home country of Italy, Charles Leclerc will be hoping to close the gap at the front, and a top-three finish is well within his capabilities.
The Monegasque driver finished second in the Miami Sprint and third in the Grand Prix, meaning he has now taken six podiums in his last nine Grand Prix starts.
Ferrari have had at least one representative on the podium in five of the six Grands Prix this season and Leclerc looks good value to delight the Tifosi on Sunday.
Nico Hulkenberg To Finish in the Points
Haas’ Kevin Magnussen may have come under severe scrutiny for driving that crossed the line into unacceptable territory in Miami, but team-mate Nico Hulkenberg continues to impress in this vastly improved car.
He finished 11th in Miami, but he took a couple of points in the Sprint, and the German has been sniffing around the points more often than not this season.
Since finishing 16th in the season opener in Bahrain, Hulkenberg has not finished lower than 11th and has taken points in three of the five Grands Prix.
Yuki Tsunoda To Finish in the Points
Much was made of Daniel Ricciardo’s return to Formula One part way through last season, but Yuki Tsunoda has been the shining light at the newly-rebranded RB team.
The Japanese driver has won all 14 of his team’s points so far and has finished inside the top 10 in three of his last four Grands Prix, plus the Miami Sprint two weeks ago.
The only failure in this run came in the Chinese Grand Prix as he retired from 13th due to a collision with Magnussen, so he can add some more points to the board in RB’s home race.
