Brentford haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 11 Premier League games, losing eight of their last 10 in the top-flight. The Bees face a tough assignment on Monday as they take on the Champions Manchester City, although Thomas Frank’s side did do the double over City last season and can be backed at 8/1 to come out on top this time round.
After Liverpool were defeated by Arsenal on Sunday, Manchester City can close the five-point gap to the top of the table with a win here. Prior to Monday’s trip to the capital, City have two games in hand on Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s side. Erling Haaland is expected to return to the starting XI on Monday. The Norwegian has scored against 20 of the 21 sides he’s faced in the Premier League with the only exception being Brentford. The visitors are chalked-up as the 1/3 favourites to come away with the three points.
Brentford vs Man City Tips
Kevin De Bruyne looks to be returning to full fitness and I’m backing the Belgian to record an assist at Brentford on Monday. Last season the Manchester City-man provided 16 assists in the Premier League and since his return from injury he has made three substitute appearances as well as one start.
In that period of 150 minutes on the pitch, De Bruyne has scored one and provided three assists. The five-time Premier League winner is averaging a goal contribution every 40 minutes so far this term across all competitions and with Paddy Power and Betfair pricing him at just 10/11 to record an assist against Brentford, I make the 17/10 on show with BetMGM a value price.
I’m a huge fan of Rodri and the Spaniard is the current favourite with some bookmakers to be named the PFA Player of the Year. Rodri has scored six goals for City this season, including on his most recent outing against Burnley where he slotted one into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
In total, Rodri has six goals across all formats this season, already improving on his tally of four from last season. The midfielder is more known for his fouls and card-collecting rather than his goalscoring and looking at his disciplinary record in 2023/24 he has racked up eight yellow cards already. This bet for him to score and be carded has landed twice this season and I’m taking a punt on a repeat at a generous looking 24/1.
