The stadium is owned and operated by the McKenna family as a dog racing venue since 1965. Greyhound racing takes place at Pelaw on Friday and Saturday evenings and on Sunday afternoons.
The circumference of the course at Pelaw is 345 metres with the run to the first bend coming in at 90 metres. Distances that are raced here are 245, 435, 590, 780 and 935 metres. The hare type that is used here is the Outside McGee.
