The stadium also doubles as the home stadium to the football Derry City who have been at the ground since 1929, greyhound racing did not come to Brandywell until the 1940's.
Racing takes place at Derry on Monday and Thursday evenings.
For a time this was the ony greyhound racing venue in Northern Ireland until the opening of Drumbo Park Stadium.
The distances that are raced here are 300, 500, 525, 600 and 720 yards.
