Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan
It's 20 years since South Korea and Portugal locked horns in what remains the only ever meeting.
It came in the group stages of the 2002 World Cup, which South Korea were co-hosting with Japan. They produced an upset to triumph 1-0 to reach the last-16 for the first time in their history, while the nine-men of Portugal had to pack their bags and jet home. A 70th minute goal from Park Ji-Sung was all that separated the teams on that occasion.
South Korea would go on to stun Italy in last-16 and Spain in the quarter-finals, before losing out to Germany in the last-four.
Portugal will be looking to avoid a slip-up this time around as they bid to book their spot in the last-16 for the fourth time in their last five World Cups, whereas South Korea will be hoping to make it out of the group stages for the first time in 12 years.
