Group F gets underway with Morocco vs Croatia.
World Cup runners-up four years ago, Croatia's talented and experienced squad will be eyeing up another exciting journey in Qatar. But first they must emerge out of a potentially thorny Group, which also contains Belgium.
They are the second favourites to progress and odds-on to beat Morocco, who have only once reached the knockout-stages of the competition, back in 1986.
Both these countries come into the World Cup having qualified top of their respective groups in Africa and Europe.
Morocco had to face DR Congo in a two legged play-off and had no problems dispatching them 5-2 on aggregate. They had a fairly disappointing AFCON tournament, losing 2-1 to Egypt in the Quarter Finals, and will be unlikely to match their best ever performance at a World Cup, back in 1986 when they reached the round of 16 stage.
Croatia topped Group H which included Russia, Slovakia and Slovenia, and looked impressive in doing so, conceding just four goals and scoring 21.
Of course Croatia had a stunning World Cup back in 2018, beating England in the semis, before losing to France in the Final. It seems unlikely they will repeat that this time but under captain Luka Modric anything in possible while they recently finished above France and Denmark to reach the Nations League Finals.
The two teams have only met once previously, in a 2-2 draw back in 1996.
