Netherlands vs Austria Head-To-Head Statistics
The last time that Austria got the better of the Netherlands was all the way back in 1990 when they came out 3-2 winners in a friendly in Vienna where Marco van Basten was on the scoresheet.
Since then, it’s been one-way traffic with the Oranje winning the last seven meetings. The most recent of those was at Euro 2020 when goals from Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries gave the Netherlands a 2-0 win.

Match Preview: Netherlands vs Austria
After France played out a goalless draw with the Netherlands on Friday evening, Poland became the first team to exit the European Championships after failing to pick up any points in their first two matches.
This now means that the Netherlands need just a point to guarantee a top-2 finish in Group D. A win for the Oranje could well see them finish top of the pile, with odds of 13/8 still available for them to do so.
Austria had been tipped as dark horses for the tournament by a few pundits and after a narrow 1-0 defeat to France in their opener, they put in a strong showing to beat Poland 3-1 on Friday tea-time.
A point against the Netherlands for Ralf Rangnick’s men would all but guarantee them a place in the knockout stage, however a defeat would leave them with an agonising wait to see if they advance as one of the third-placed finishers.
Best Betting Markets for Netherlands vs Austria
The Netherlands can count themselves a little unlucky to not have come away with more against France after Xavi Simmons' goal was ruled out after a controversial VAR decision. Their clash with Austria has the hallmarks of a high-scoring entertaining affair with both teams free flowing in attack.
With this in mind, taking a look at the match goals market could prove the right way to play this one. Over 2.5 goals is currently best priced at 10/11 with BetMGM, while for those feeling a little more adventurous Sky Bet have 9/4 available for Over 3.5 goals to be scored.
Christoph Baumgartner found the net for Austria in their 3-1 win over Poland and prior to the tournament he had scored five consecutive games for Rangnick’s men. At 27/5, again with BetMGM, the Austrian looks an attractive price to continue his purple patch in front of goal for his national side.
