Croatia vs Italy Head-To-Head Statistics
Croatia and Italy have faced each other nine times in their history, with the first meeting coming all the way back in 1942 and the most recent being nine years ago in 2015.
Perhaps surprisingly, the Azzurri have a poor record against Vatreni, having only ever won that first meeting back in 1942 and having never beaten the Croats in their eight match-ups since then. The last three meetings have all ended in 1-1 draws.
Here are the results of the last five Croatia vs Italy head-to-head clashes:

12/06/2015 | Croatia 1-1 Italy | Euro 2016 Qualifying |
16/11/2014 | Italy 1-1 Croatia | Euro 2016 Qualifying |

Match Preview: Croatia vs Italy
This European Championship has been a disappointment so far for Croatia, who appear to save their best tournament displays for the World Cup. So far, they've managed to pick up just one point from their first two matches, leaving them with an uphill battle to climb in their third and final fixture.
While they were always underdogs against Spain and the final scoreline of 3-0 flattered la Roja somewhat, Vatreni will have expected to beat Albania in their second match, only for a last-gasp Klaus Gjasula equaliser to ensure Croatia's game finished 2-2 at the Volksparkstadion.
Italy will come into the match with two points more than their opponents, giving them the upper hand when it comes to fighting for second place, but they'll be just as disappointed with their performance so far.
The Azzurri needed to come from behind to beat Albania in their first match after Nedim Bajrani scored the quickest goal in Euros history but they were unable to follow that up with any more points on Matchday Two as a Ricardo Calafiori own goal condemned Luciano Spalletti's men to a 1-0 defeat against Spain.
Now, that leaves Italy in second place coming into the final match, knowing that a draw will be enough to ensure they progress to the knock-out stages but Croatia have been something of a bogey team for them in recent years, with the Azzurri not winning any of the last eight meetings between the sides.
Best Betting Markets for Italy vs Croatia
Italy are 7/5 favourites for the win on Monday night, but perhaps the smart money is on the draw at 12/5 as that's all the Azzurri need in order to secure second spot. Croatia meanwhile are also priced at around 12/5 for the win.
Early goals have been a feature of the games involving these sides so far, with all three of the goals in Italy's win over Albania coming within the first 16 minutes, while Croatia found themselves 3-0 down to Spain by half-time in their opening game. Perhaps there's value in backing both teams to score in the first half at around 18/5 here.
If you're looking for a goalscorer bet, then then Italy duo Gianluca Scamacca and Mateo Retegui are similarly priced at around 14/5 to score at any time while Ante Budimir leads the betting for Croatia at 16/5.
