Who are the favourites to be Christmas Number One in 2023?
Following the sad passing of The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowen passing away, bookmakers have slashed the odds for The Pogues to win Christmas Number One with their Christmas Classic "Fairytale of New York", which has never made it to the top spot.
Following in second place is the yet-to-be-released cover of Wizard's song "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday in aid of The Trussell Trust performed by a collective of Tik Tok Stars!
Previous Christmas No 1 Winners
LadBaby has dominated the Christmas charts since 2018, winning in each of the last four years, including in 2021 through their single 'Sausage Rolls for Everyone', alongside Ed Sheeran and Elton John.
Other recent winners include Ed Sheeran on his own, Clean Bandit ft. Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir, and Ben Haenow.
