World Athletics Championships 2025: Women's 100m Odds
Below, we assess the main contenders in the betting to win the women's 100m at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden: 4/9
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden has emerged as the short-priced 4/9 frontrunner for gold in the women's 100m at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
Jefferson-Wooden, who picked up bronze at the Olympics last summer, has enjoyed a superb season to date, posting five of the fastest six times, including an electric PB of 10.65 seconds to win the US Championships last month, where she also scooped the 200m gong.
Jefferson-Wooden, who is unbeaten across nine 100m races in 2025, will face stiff competition from the following...
Julien Alfred: 11/8
Julien Alfred beat Jefferson-Wooden en-route to winning the 100m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics and can be backed at 11/8 to double up at the World Championships.
The St Lucian is the second fastest in the world this year with a time of 10.75 seconds and has won four of her five 100m races in 2025.
The only blot on her record came in Eugene when she was pipped to the line by Jefferson-Wooden by just 0.02 seconds.
Sha'Carri Richardson: 14/1
Sha'Carri Richardson is further back in the betting at 14/1.
Richardson is the defending champion, having claimed gold two years ago in Budapest in a new championship record time of 10.65 seconds - also a PB -and she went on to win silver behind Alfred at the Olympics last year.
However, she's not shown her best in 2025, where she's yet to go under 11 seconds and was a distant second by 0.32 seconds to fellow American Jefferson-Wooden in her most recent outing.
Tina Clayton: 14/1
Tina Clayton is the current Jamaican 100m champion and arguably her country's best hope for gold in 2025.
Only Jefferson-Wooden and Alfred have carded faster times than Clayton this year, whose best showing was 10.81 at the Jamaican Championships.
Shericka Jackson: 25/1
Shericka Jackson, like Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Sha'Carri Richardson, also holds a PB of 10.65 seconds which she set two years ago.
Jackson, who is the second fastest 200m runner in history, took silver in the 100m at the World Championships in 2023 but is out at 25/1 to go one better this time around.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce: 100m
We can't not mention Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce who is the third fastest woman (10.60 seconds) of all time.
The Jamaican boasts a stunning CV containing two Olympic 100m golds and a further five 100m golds at the World Championships.
Now 38, her fastest time of 2025 is 10.91 seconds - 14th in the world - and she finished 4th in her last warm-up race, with Sky Bet ranking her out at 100/1 to strike gold in what will be her final World Champs.
