Wimbledon Women's Semi Final Tips
The first semi final we’ll analyse is Elina Svitolina facing Marketa Vondrousova. It's the first time the Czech has made a Grand Slam semi final since Roland Garros back in 2019, while for the Ukrainian this is the third Grand Slam semi-final she's reached. Should Elina Svitolina win however, this would be her first Grand Slam final.
Marketa Vondrousova has never had much success on the grass, but has put in some great performances the past week, with the main highlight being her win in the quarter-finals beating World Number 3 Jessica Pegula in three sets. While Elina Svitolina has done one better, and beat World Number 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals, as a huge underdog (6+ odds). I have Marketa Vondrousova as a slightly larger favourite here
Ons Jabeur got her revenge against Elena Rybakina, where she came from a set down to secure her place in the semi finals. She faces Aryna Sabalenka, who is just one win away from being the world number one. Aryna Sabalenka leads the head to head record against the Tunisian 3-1, with the Belarussian winning the latest meeting in 2022.
They have faced in Wimbledon before, where Aryna Sabalenka cruised, winning in straight sets 6-2 6-4. I have this as a relatively tight battle. I feel like money line odds are fair, but I think the over has some value to it. In fact, I really like the higher number on the over games, more than the over 2.5 sets.
