Wimbledon Women's Final Tips
We’re somehow at the finals weekend of Wimbledon after an insane two weeks. Ons Jabeur hopes to do one better than last year, where she lost in the final to Elena Rybakina in three sets. This time she faces unseeded player Markéta Vondroušová.
But don’t let the “unseeded” word make you think that this means it's going to be an easy win for Ons Jabeur. Markéta Vondroušová had her highest ranking of 14. She’s now currently ranked 16 in the live rankings, and a Wimbledon title will secure her debut inside the top 10! She won her first, and only, title in 2017 when she was just 17 years old.
Markéta Vondroušová has always been a dangerous player, and has always threatened the top players on the tour. She's beaten Karolina Pliskova, Veronika Kudermetova (twice), Ons Jabeur (twice), Maria Sakkari and Jessica Pegula this year alone! Last year she started her season well reaching the semi finals of Dubai, but unfortunately got injured and had to take a few months out. But she's come back this year, and has gone on an amazing run at Wimbledon for the first time in her career. She's only dropped two sets the past two weeks, and faces another player who has never won a Grand Slam either, Ons Jabeur!
It's beautiful to watch Ons Jabeur play. The woman from Tunisia has had a pretty good season, going 22-9 so far. She had a disappointing start to her Grand Slam campaign, where she lost in the second round to Markéta Vondroušová. But she managed to regain some form and won her first title of the year at Charleston in the United States, where she won every single match in straight sets!
Her next Grand Slam was Roland Garros, where she reached the semi finals but lost to Beatrice Haddad Maia despite being a set up. Now she has her best chance to win a Grand Slam, and is in the final of Wimbledon after having the draw of death! She had to beat Magda Frech, Zhuoxuan Bai, Bianca Andreescu, Petra Kvitova, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka to reach the final!
I like the over games here, UniBet are offering a nice price of 1.85. I also like Ons Jabeur’s game spread here. Despite Markéta Vondroušová’s success against the Tunisian this year, I think on grass Ons Jabeur’s game is much better.
