Day 12 at Wimbledon will be the day when we find out who the finalists of the prestigious tournament will be! Check out Max Saakyan’s tips below.
Wimbledon Men's Semi-Final Tips
The first semi final we’ll analyse is Carlos Alcaraz against Daniil Medvedev. The Russian managed to comeback from 2-1 down, winning the tiebreak in a tight fourth set to make it 2-2, and then ran away with it winning the fifth set 6-1 against Christopher Eubanks.
Daniil Medvedev has had a sneaky good season, winning five titles so far this year. In fact, this is the most amount of tour-level tournaments that he's won in a calendar year ever! Although he's had a relatively easy run, he's still executed everything well. With his only scares coming against Martin Fucsovics where he dropped the opening set, and Christopher Eubanks in the quarter-finals.
Daniil Medvedev has never had much success at Wimbledon, where his best result before this year was in the round of 16. Now he's in the semi finals and faces Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard has already matched his amazing 2022 in the number of titles won (5), and will hope he can add Wimbledon to that list. He won the title at Queen's with ease, dropping just one set in the opening round. He's had a good run at Wimbledon, beating a couple of high level players such as Matteo Berrettini and Holger Rune. I like Carlos Alcaraz’s chances here, and I’ll be taking the -1.5 sets.
In the second semi final, we have defending champion Novak Djokovic facing the in-form Jannik Sinner. The Italian has really solidified himself as a top top player, and sometimes it's easy to forget that he's just 21 years old! The pair have faced each other in the past, in fact, the last time they played was at Wimbledon last year in the quarter-finals, where Novak Djokovic came back from two sets down to beat Jannik Sinner!
Novak Djokovic on grass, especially at Wimbledon, is a different human. He's won 33 matches in a row at this Grand Slam, and will be hoping that can reach 35 in a few days time! I still like Jannik Sinner's chances here, and I think the over is showing the most value.
