Wimbledon Day 5 Betting Tips: Best bets the All England Club
After four days into Wimbledon, we’ve seen plenty of upsets, to comfortable wins. Max Saakyan returns with his best bets for Day 5.
One of the highlights of the tournament so far will be Michael Mmoh’s win over the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. Now we’re into day 5, where we’ll be analysing some of the second round matches for the day.
Wimbledon Day 4 Tips
We'll first go to the women's side, where we have Anna Blinkova facing Irina Begu. Anna Blinkova has been in fine form, solidifying herself inside the top 50. After a couple of decent runs on the tour, including a semi final in Hobart and a final in Strasburg, she's ready to compete on the biggest stage, Wimbledon.
She had a successful week in the tournament previously, where she beat Sabine Lisicki and Leylah Fernandez, before losing to Swiatek in straight sets. Anna Blinkova started her Wimbledon campaign strongly, beating Yanina Wickmayer in three sets. Irina Begu hasn't been in the best form, but managed to get through Rebecca Marino in three sets. I have Blinkova as a slightly larger favourite than what the odds are currently giving us.
On the men's side, we have Jason Kubler facing the in-form Nicolas Jarry. I really enjoy watching Jason Kubler on the grass, where his game seems to suit the surface. Last year he managed to win six matches in a row, before losing out to Fritz in the round of 16. This year he opened his account against Ugo Humbert, and managed to beat the Frenchman in five sets.
Before Wimbledon, Jason Kubler won his first title of the year, winning the Ilkley Challenger. He faces Nicolas Jarry who hasn't been that impressive on the grass, needing four sets against Marco Cecchinato in the opening round. I think Jason Kubler should be the favourite in this one.
