West Ham’s season has petered out somewhat with a four-game winless run surrounding their Europa League exit, but they are still on course for a top-half finish and will want to finish the Moyes era positively.
Former Spain and Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has reportedly agreed to become their next head coach and the home players will be expected to put on a strong performance for the departing Moyes.
That said, Luton have no choice but to play positively as they bid to bridge a three-point gap on fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest and victory may be required to give them any hope of survival.
West Ham vs Luton Tips
West Ham’s patchy form has seen them slide down the table, but they still go into their final two games in ninth and will surely want to put on a show for Moyes following his five-year tenure.
The Hammers have failed to win any of their last five home games in all competitions but that run includes draws with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham.
And they have the attacking resources in Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta to win an entertaining game with Luton, who have failed to win any of their last nine away games, suffering five straight road defeats.
That said, the Hatters have scored in 14 of their last 15 defeats and that includes away reverses at Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.
The Irons were 2-1 winners at Kenilworth Road in September and they can repeat the trick with another high-scoring victory in the capital.
The Hammers’ only clean sheet in their last 11 home matches came in a 5-0 rout of Freiburg and Luton have no choice but to try and go for broke, something which also leaves them vulnerable to the counter-attack.
One player who will be keen to reward Moyes with a season-closing victory is Michail Antonio, who has been thriving in recent outings.
The Hammers hotshot has bagged five of his seven goals this season in his last 10 appearances, which includes back-to-back home games against Leverkusen and Liverpool.
Antonio’s aerial presence and physicality could be key against Luton and he looks a nice price to get on the scoresheet for a fourth time in his last five starts.
