Wales vs. Gibraltar Betting Tips: High-scoring affair not expected at the Racecourse Ground

As a warm up to Sunday's important EURO 2024 qualifier with Croatia, Wales meet Gibraltar on Wednesday in an international friendly.
Rob Page and his team swerved a four-game winless streak last time out with a 2-0 victory over Latvia in their EURO qualifying campaign - a result which has them level on points with Armenia but two goals worse off when it comes to goal difference. Before that, Wales had participated in a goalless draw with South Korea in a September friendly and now turn to Gibraltar to tinker ahead of Sunday's meeting with Group D leaders Croatia.
Gibraltar remain both winless and goalless in 2023, suffering six straight defeats this calendar year without a single reply. Greece were the latest opponents to hand them a thrashing in September's 5-0 qualifier, leaving them dead last in Group B without a single point to their name and on a goal difference of -17.
A quick glance at the match result market tells you the full story: Wales are a best price of 1/20 to win, the draw is priced at 16/1, while Gibraltar are as far out as 75/1 to chalk their first win on the board since November 2022.
Wales vs Gibraltar Tips
While logic might immediately jump to backing a raft of goals in this game, we believe the value lies with the under market.
You have to go back to November 2021 - 20 games ago - for the last time that Wales scored more than two goals in a single game. That came against Belarus in a World Cup qualifier - a fixture that held importance for Rob Page's side.
Here, the Welsh will have all of their attention focused on Sunday's EURO qualifier, meaning Page will take no unnecessary risks and should make several changes to his team.
That's how they approached September's friendly with South Korea in a drab affair that ended with just five shots on target and no goals.
We're not hinting at the idea that Gibraltar could upset the odds in any way - although they're likely to go full strength to target that very outcome - we just don't believe that this will be taken as an opportunity by Wales to hand them a pasting in a meaningless tune up match.
Many selections are priced way too short for our liking, so we're opting to roll the dice on a correct score bet.
In fitting with our prediction of under 2.5 goals, we know that Gibraltar aren't going to pull up any trees no matter how changed the Wales XI might be.
This bet landed in their victory over Latvia last month, with two 1-0 wins preceding that in March and last June.
Latvia are a slightly better team than Gibraltar, as evidenced by them scoring three goals and conceding four fewer goals in their own EURO qualifying campaign.
Given how Rob Page can't risk any further injuries for Sunday's match, this contest could be closer than many are anticipating.
