US Open Day 6 Betting Tips: Back these three bets on Saturday
After an entertaining opening week of play at the US Open, the focus is now on Saturday where our tennis tipster Max Saakyan supplies his three best bets for Day 6.
We move onto the second half of the third round matches, where the players are fighting for the last 16 places for the competition.
On the men's side, there has been a number of upsets in the bottom half but less so when we look at the top half.
The top half still have eight of the top 20 seeds, while the bottom have just four left.
US Open Day 6 Tips
Alexander Zverev has had an impressive past few weeks so far, winning his first title since 2021 in Hamburg on the clay where he managed to dominate the competition winning in straight sets from round 1 to the final.
The German is now on the US Open hard courts, and has impressed so far this week, beating Aleksandar Vukic and Daniel Altmaier to set up an exciting round three match up with Grigor Dimitrov.
The pair faced each other just a couple weeks ago back in Cincinnati, where Alexander Zverev beat the Bulgarian with ease, 6-2 6-2. He had a great week in Cincinnati, where he beat Daniil Medvedev in three sets and had a close match with Novak Djokovic losing 7-6 7-5 in the semi finals.
Grigor Dimitrov nearly lost in the opening round of the US Open, where he was 2 sets down and a match point down against Alex Molcan.
Similarly to their previous match, I think Alexander Zverev beats him with ease here, and both the set and game spread is showing nice value here.
The next match we'll look into is Nicolas Jarry taking on Adam De Minaur.
Nicolas Jarry has been in the form of his life this year, reaching the top 25 for the first time in his career.
It's a surprise to see him so high, after the Chilean was given a 11-month doping ban back in 2020. Since then he's been playing Challengers to try and get his ranking up, and this year he finally was at a place where he could play regular tour-level tennis, and showed his quality by winning his first ever ATP title since 2019 in Santiago.
Alex De Minaur has also been playing some impressive tennis lately, winning a title in Acapulco and reaching the final in Toronto where he lost to Jannik Sinner.
He's made great strides, and will be confident coming into this match up.
Nicolas Jarry is primarily a clay-court player, but has found some success on the quicker hard court conditions. The US Open seems to be on the slightly slower side this year, and I think that will benefit the Australian more. I'll be siding with De Minaur on this one.
