Preston looked to be challenging for a play-off position for a long part of this year, however a very usual case of falling away at the end of the campaign has once again occurred, with just four points from their last six matches. North End are not fancied to turn their form around against the league leaders, with 15/4 available for them to win the game, and 10/3 chalked-up for the draw.
The incentive of not letting the league title go down to the last day of the campaign should be a nice motivator for Leicester on Monday. They have won their last two matches, showing bottle that their promotion rivals have failed to display in recent weeks and as a result they are just 8/13 to collect the three points and finish the job here.
Preston vs Leicester Tips
Few punters would have predicted that Queens Park Rangers would turn Leeds over 4-0 on Friday night. That result meant that the Foxes were guaranteed promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and now after Ipswich dropped points against Hull on Saturday evening, Maresca’s men now have a chance to secure the league title with a game to spare.
After a few performances that raised a few eyebrows and showed some nerves within the Leicester camp, they have since beaten West Brom 2-1, before a magnificent showing against promotion hopefuls Southampton, where they demolished the Saints 5-0.
Preston on the other hand have now lost three games on the bounce and have taken only four points from their last six. All of those three losses, against Southampton, Norwich and Queens Park Rangers came without Ryan Lowe’s side scoring and we are backing the Foxes to win on Monday with Under 4.5 goals being scored in the match
Motivation can be a key factor at this point of the season. Preston can no longer make the play-offs and with Leicester having the chance to guarantee top-spot, getting them onside for the win here looks a wise bet. The 8/13 on the standard result market looks a little short so we’d prefer the even money that is available for them to win and under five goals to be scored in the match.
In the price boosts section of the match page on Sky Bet, they have enhanced the odds of Harry Winks to commit two or more fouls, from 2/1 up to 3/1. Winks has given away more fouls than any other Leicester player this season and has cleared this line in both of his last two matches.
Looking back a little further, he has given away two or more fouls in 15 of his last 23 Championship appearances. This immediately gives tons of appeal to the implied odds of only 25% we are getting here with the boosted price. Betfair and Paddy Power go just 11/10 on the same selection so take the considerably larger offering 3/1 with Sky.
