Premier League Sack Race: Frank Lampard odds cut as relegation fears grow for Everton

Everton have never been relegated from the Premier League.
In fact, The Toffees haven’t been relegated from the top-tier since way back at the end of the 1950/51 season, and the last time they played in the second-tier was 1953/54. Only Arsenal are enjoying a longer stretch in England's top league (since 1919).
However, next season Championship football is both an alarming and now legitimate possibility following a ghastly run of form which has seen the club win two of their last 19 games; 14 of which have ended in defeat, including seven of the last eight.
The latest set-back was Monday's 5-0 demolition at the hands of inconsistent Spurs, meaning Frank Lampard has now lost four of his five league games since replacing Rafa Benitez in the dugout.
The former Chelsea boss has only been in charge of Everton for five weeks but he can already be backed at just 5/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave, after Paddy Power cut his odds from 14/1 following the spanking at Spurs.
We’ve already seen a hefty nine top-flight bosses depart this season, a tenth would equal the all-time record for in-season Premier League exits.
Everton’s woeful form
Everton’s wretched form over a prolonged period of time is obviously a huge cause of concern. There’s simply no escaping the fact that a return of two wins from 19 games is relegation form.
The club’s away record has been a particular thorn in the side, they’ve scraped a meagre six points on the road - and a solitary win - from 13 games, it’s a league low and the second-worst in the top-four tiers.
Everton have now failed to score in their last three games, they've lost four times out of five in the league under Lampard, and the only team who they’ve beaten since early December is Leeds, who replaced Marcelo Bielsa shortly after.
As for Lampard, he’s now lost nine of his last 13 Premier League matches, which includes eight games at the end of his Chelsea tenure (W2 D1 5L).
Yes, he inherited a struggling Everton side, but he desperately needs to find a winning formula ASAP. He was brought in to breathe fresh life into a struggling side, and while he has an FA Cup quarter-final to look forward to, Everton are enduring a nightmare in the league.

Everton’s relegation odds
Free-falling Everton now sit one point and one place above the relegation zone, although they do have 1/2/3 games in hand on the teams around them.
They are currently priced at 7/2 to suffer relegation out of the Premier League for the first time ever, contrast that current price to October when the Merseyside outfit were way out at 150/1.
Rock-bottom Norwich are now as slim as 1/40 to go down, Watford are 2/11, Burnley 11/10, Leeds 2/1, and Brentford 9/2.

Everton’s run-in
Everton have 13 games remaining - more than any team around them - but getting points on the board has been a severe problem for a sustained period of time.
On the plus side their next two games are at Goodison Park, against 8th-placed Wolves and a rejuvenated Newcastle.
Lampard’s troops still have to play the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, and also Leicester twice.
"If you're an Everton supporter, it's one of the worst times that it's been because there are other things in the background and how much relegation could affect Everton," Jamie Carragher said on MNF.
"The last five games of the season are absolutely horrific. Chelsea are in there, Liverpool are in there, but it's the first time I've thought Everton have a real chance of going down."
