Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Tips
Man City jumped above Liverpool into second place to within a point of Arsenal with a game in hand following a resounding 4-0 thumping of Brighton on the south coast.
The win not only improved City's goal difference but kept the defence of their title in their own hands: Five wins from their remaining five games will seal the deal.
After all, this is a side that are now unbeaten in 18 league matches (14 Wins & 4 Draws) dating back to early December. Since playing out a goalless draw against Arsenal last month, City have won four top-flight games in a row, scoring at least four in every game.
These statistics will strike fear into the heart of Nottingham Forest, who have one win from their last nine games, which leaves the club one point and one place above the relegation zone ahead of this weekend's fixtures.
They can, however, draw confidence from a three game unbeaten run at home. Aston Villa and Man Utd have both suffered defeats at the City Ground this season, while Spurs could only snatch a point last time out.
City are an entirely different prospect though, reflected in Forest's odds of 9/1 with Midnite to claim a much needed win. The visitors are 2/7 to make it five wins on the spin, with a draw out at 5/1.
Phil Foden's PFA Player of the Year Odds were cut further to 10/11 after he bagged a brace in Man City's mid-week 4-0 thumping of Brighton. A two-time winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award, the 23-year-old is now well fancied to win the senior gong, boosted by his barnstorming performances over the last few months.
Foden, who has five goals in his last two league games, has moved up to 16 goals for the season which also puts him in contention to challenge the likes of Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer - both on 20 goals - for the Golden Boot accolade should he continue his remarkable goalscoring form through to the end of the season; at 50/1 he represents an attractive outside price.
Capable of scoring a goal out of nothing, whether that's inside the penalty area or from a free-kick, City's main man right now represents an appealing price at 13/10 with Midnite to score yet again this weekend. It took him all of seven minutes to find the back of the net when the teams last played and he'll fancy his chances of once again breaching the backline of a Nottingham Forest side that have kept just one clean sheet in 23 league games.
Sticking with Phil Foden, I'll also be taking the bigger price of 13/2 for the Englishman to score two goals or more at the City Ground.
Foden is in such a rich vein of form right now, making this a very tempting bet, and one that's landed in his last two league games: he scored twice against Brighton and prior to that he netted a hat-trick against Aston Villa.
Stretching back a little further, Foden scored a brace in March's 3-1 win over Man Utd, a hat-trick in February's 3-1 victory at Brentford, and another brace in the 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield at the start of the year.
