Next Sheffield United Manager Odds: Who could replace Slavisa Jokanovic?

*Since this article was published Sheffield United have officially parted ways with Slavisa Jokanovic and named Paul Heckingbottom as their new manager*
Slavisa Jokanovic is set to leave Sheffield United after all of 22 matches, according to The Telegraph’s John Percy.
In the summer the former Fulham and Watford boss vacated his post at Qatari side Al-Gharafa in order to sign a three-year deal with the Blades, who had been relegated from the Premier League.
"I want to assure our amazing fans that we're fully committed to helping the team achieve its goals and make you feel proud," Jokanovic said upon his arrival.
He’s since been plagued by a lack of investment, inconsistent performances and uninspiring football, although given his previous exploits in the Championship - a two-time promotion winner - you’d think he would have been given more time to implement his methods, while he grabbed three points away to Reading on Tuesday. There’s still over half of the season left to be played and things can change very quickly in the Championship.
The Reading result looked to be a turning point, instead it proved to be Jokanovic’s last stand with the club now taking decisive action ahead of the festive period. In total he took 23 points from 19 league games and leaves the Blades 16th in table, eight points adrift of the play-offs.
The club’s U23’s manager Paul Heckingbottom took over in March for the rest of the season following the exit of Chris Wilder, and it looks likely that he will once again oversee the first team. The 44-year-old former Barnsley boss won three and lost eight of his 11 matches last time out. The next manager market opened up with Heckingbottom a sizeable 20/1 but those odds have since been cut to the 4/1 frontrunner, and there are various reports that he's set to land the job.
If not, then who else could Sheffield United turn to as they bid to bounce back from a slow start and spark a push up the table?
Daniel Farke is an attractive option at 16/1. The German is a two-time Championship title winner who is currently available after leaving Norwich a couple of weeks ago. He didn’t have the best time of it in the Premier League, but his Championship record is outstanding; the Canaries played some exquisite football en route to winning the league last season.

There are plenty of experienced out-of-work managers available for hire at the moment, including Alex Neil, Chris Hughton, Mick McCarthy, Tony Pulis, as well as former Blades boss Steve Bruce.
We’re still patiently waiting to see where Frank Lampard rocks up next, John Terry is keen to embark upon a career in management, while Wayne Rooney has impressed in incredibly difficult circumstances at Derby County.
Elsewhere, you can find former Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at 12/1 to make a very swift return to management, whereas the 20/1-priced Michael Flynn is looking to climb the managerial pyramid.

Neil Warnock is free. You didn’t think we were going to forget him did you? The veteran former Blades boss left his post at Middlesbrough earlier this month and while a long-term appointment seems extremely unlikely, he could possibly be an interim option until the end of the season.
Warnock, 72, memorably led his boyhood club into the Premier League, and later repeated the feat with QPR and Cardiff City.
