Newcastle vs Tottenham Prediction and Betting Tips: Anthony Gordon overpriced in the cards market
A win on Tyneside in Saturday's early kick-off could go a long way to consolidating Tottenham's top four spot, but that will be far from a simple task against Europa League chasers Newcastle.

The pair's last two meetings have offered up goals galore, with Ange Postecoglou helping Spurs get revenge for last April's 6-1 defeat at St. James' Park in the form of a 4-1 victory on home soil back in December.
There isn't much between them in the match result market as The Toon, who are winless in their last two, are positioned at 7/4, while the visitors can be backed at 11/8. If it's as tight as the odds suggest, then perhaps a draw at 3/1 carries more appeal to punters.
Newcastle vs Tottenham Tips
After arriving with a hefty price tag last January, Anthony Gordon has taken many by surprise this season, proving to be a consistent source for goals, assists, and most importantly for this particular bet: cards.
No player from either of these two sides has received more bookings than Gordon in the Premier League this season, who has been entered into the referee's book eight times from 29 appearances - equal with teammate Bruno Guimaraes, who's committed only seven fouls more. Add to that his recent red card against West Ham, along with a further caution in the FA Cup and Champions League apiece, then the stats alone make the 16/5 odds overpriced.
The visit of a dynamic Tottenham side only provides more interest for this bet as it's fair to assume that this will be a goal laden fixture. It also helps that Gordon enjoys the rough and tumble of contributing defensively, so he'll be no passenger when it comes to adding some bite in what looks to be a competitive game.
Sticking with the theme of bookings, we're also posting this 18/1 double for both of tomorrow's projected right-backs to be cautioned in the lunchtime game.
Emil Krafth is in line for his third consecutive start in the absence of Kieran Trippier. The Swede was booked in last Saturday's marginal victory over Fulham and the combination of James Maddison - drawn 60 fouls in 21 games - and Timo Werner - an elusive player who can either be dynamite or pony on his day - is likely to cause him even more problems than his previous opponent Willian.
Having only played 325 minutes of Premier League football this campaign too, then he could be in for a long afternoon should Tottenham's attack be firing on all cylinders as it has done plenty of times both home and away under Postecoglou.
Likewise, whoever starts down the left flank for the home side, either Harvey Barnes or Anthony Gordon, should make it a tough assignment for Tottenham's Pedro Porro. The Spaniard may not be the most obvious candidate for a booking given his three previous yellows, but the fact that this trio have all come against sides in the top 8 suggests he struggles slightly with the jump in quality of his direct opponents.
Referee Tim Robinson was promoted to select Group 1 duties this season, over four years after taking charge of his first top-flight fixture which just so happened to feature Newcastle. His tally of 77 yellows in 18 2023/24 PL matches puts him 8th in the overall standings and also sees him possess a healthy 4.28 yellows per game average at this level.
