Middlesbrough currently occupy ninth position in the Championship standings although they look set to just miss out on a play-off spot, being nine points outside the top-six. Boro were last in action nine days ago when they played out a 1-1 draw with Ipswich. For those looking to back the hosts on Monday evening 16/5 is available with BetMGM.
Leeds slipped up on their last outing as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Blackburn Rovers with Championship top-scorer Sammie Szmodics scoring the only goal of the game. Automatic promotion remains the primary objective for Daniel Farke’s side and a win away at Middlesbrough would see them leapfrog Ipswich into second place. The visitors are priced at 4/5 in the match result market, implying a 56% chance of victory.
Middlesbrough vs Leeds Tips
For our main play of the evening we are backing Middlesbrough in the Double Chance market, meaning our bet will be a winner if Michael Carrick’s men win or draw the game. At the time of writing, even money (1/1) is available on this selection.
Boro are finishing the season strongly and have put in some impressive displays recently. Carrick’s side have lost just two of their seven matches against the top-four this season and we believe they can pick up something here. Boro are currently on a run of nine matches without tasting defeat that stretches back to the start of March.
Leeds have stuttered at the worst possible point of the campaign. Prior to their defeat to Coventry, Leeds had gone 15 games unbeaten, but losses to the Sky Blues and Blackburn Rovers, along with a goalless draw with Sunderland has allowed their promotion rivals to jump ahead of them in the table. Leeds have only come away with three points in one of their last four visits to the Riverside Stadium.
We are also backing an anytime goalscorer in the form of Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath. The Ivorian has scored 12 league goals this season, however seven of those have come since the start of March. The 25-year-old has scored in all of his last three matches and can find the net against a Leeds side who have failed to shut out their opponents in four of their last five and will be nervous as they look to move back into automatic promotion places.
