Jose Mourinho Next Job Odds: Where next for Mourinho?
Jose Mourinho is back in the Job Centre following his recent departure from Fenerbahce, but history tells us that 'The Special One' won't be out of the dugout for long.
Mourinho has already been linked with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen, but with those jobs snapped up swiftly, we take a look at other possible destinations.
Jose Mourinho Next Job Odds
Below, we take a look at Mourinho's options, based on the latest odds from bet365.
Rangers: 5/2
Russell Martin has endured a torrid start to his Rangers tenure, failing to win any of his opening four league games - all draws - in between a shambolic 9-1 aggregate thrashing to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs.
Martin's days at Ibrox already seem numbered and the sudden availability of a high-profile manager like Mourinho has sparked speculation in Glasgow.
Just this year, Mourinho was asked about the possibility of managing in Scotland:
"Celtic and Rangers are big clubs with big fan bases, big emotions, big responsibilities, big expectations. Why not?"
West Ham: 4/1
West Ham could be another Premier League possibility for Mourinho.
Graham Potter hasn’t made the impact many Hammers fans had hoped for since his appointment in January, with just six wins from 23 games.
The pressure mounted early this season after three consecutive defeats in all competitions, but a stunning 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest has provided Potter with some much-needed respite over the international break.
That said, if Potter can’t build on that victory with consistent results, the pressure will inevitably rise again.
Any Saudi Arabia Premier League Club: 6/1
Mourinho has been consistently linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and his appointment would undoubtedly be seen as a major coup for the league.
He’s frequently spotted in the country at major sporting events and has previously stated that he’s open to the idea of managing there.
Man United: 10/1
Mourinho spent two-and-a-half years at the helm of Manchester United, winning the League Cup and Europa League, while also securing a second-place finish in the Premier League.
Although his time at Old Trafford ended on a sour note, Mourinho boasts the highest win percentage (58.33%) of any Manchester United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson (10+ games). In comparison, incumbent Ruben Amorim has won just 17 of his 46 matches so far (36.96%).
Amorim's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain and an exit does appear likely if United's sluggish start continues. Still, if a vacancy does open up, a return for Mourinho seems remote - but stranger things have happened!
