Next Swansea City Manager Betting Odds
Swansea City are are searching for a new manager following the exit of Steve Cooper.
Back in 2011 Swansea won promotion to the Premier League, under Brendan Rodgers, for the first time in their history. The club enjoyed an impressive start to life in the top-flight, finishing 11th in their debut campaign. However, Rodgers was then lured over to Liverpool in the summer of 2012, and was replaced by Michael Laudrup.
The Dane led the Swans to Capital One Cup glory (and thus qualification into the Europa League) the following season after his side thrashed Bradford 5-0 in the final, only to lose his job a year later after a mixed bag of results. Monk was placed in caretaker charge in February 2014, then awarded the job on a full-time basis in May of the same year.
In his first full season at the helm Monk led his troops to an impressive 8th spot, with a record points tally (56) despite losing star man Wilfred Bony half-way through the season. In July 2015 Monk signed a new three-year deal with the club, but then rather harshly given the boot in December.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Swansea City collect wins versus Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Barnsley while suffering adverse results at Queens Park Rangers, Watford, Brentford. Draws against Wycombe Wanderers, Reading, Barnsley has seen them show mid-table form at best.
