Celtic didn’t need any time to get up to speed when crushing Kilmarnock 4-0 at Parkhead last weekend and the Bhoys will be brimming with confidence on their trip to Easter Road on Sunday.
Hibernian will be looking to bounce back from an opening day defeat to St Mirren, and while a 3-0 Paisley defeat was harsh on the flow of the game, it’s a huge worry that Hibs once again failed to convert their chances.
The Hibees are hoping for better under new gaffer David Gray, but there has been a fair amount of upheaval at Easter Road following the departures of former managers Lee Johnson and Nick Montgomery, and it may take some time for Hibs to start moving in the right direction.
Hibernian vs Celtic Tips
Celtic scored 95 goals in 38 Scottish Premiership matches last season and the Hoops are clearly the dominant force in Scotland.
Brendan Rodgers’ men started the campaign with a 4-0 hammering of Kilmarnock at Parkhead last weekend and there is a wealth of attacking talent available to the former Liverpool gaffer.
There are few doubts that Celtic will find the net against a Hibs side who conceded three goals at St Mirren in their opening contest of the Scottish Premiership season, but perhaps the chances of the Easter Road outfit scoring have been underestimated.
The Hibees created plenty of chances in Paisley at the weekend, but it was a familiar story with David Gray’s men failing to convert their chances.
Dylan Vente was the only senior forward available to Gray last time out, but Nicky Cadden, Junior Hoilett and Kieron Bowie have all moved to Easter Road this week and that should give Gray far more attacking options.
Celtic aren’t watertight defensively - Liam Scales and Anthony Ralston aren’t convincing at the back - and taking both teams to score looks a bet on Sunday.
Nicolas Kuhn scored three Celtic goals after making the switch from Rapid Vienna in January and the German looks set for a big first full season in the hoops.
The 24-year-old found the net in the 4-0 rout of Kilmarnock at the weekend and hit four shots on the Killie goal.
Those numbers suggest that the German will be a major goalscoring force for Celtic this term and, at 2/1, Kuhn can be backed to find the net against Hibs.
