World Cup 2022 Betting Tips: Group Winner Accumulator

The group stages are right around the corner and with all the betting markets being set we thought we'd take a look at the group winner market and combine all our selections into a boosted accumulator via William Hill...
Group Winner Acca Tip
Netherlands, England, Argentina, France, Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Portugal to win their groups at the 2022 World Cup.
William Hill's Acca Freedom allows you to either boost your accumulator or insure your 5+ fold accumulators. If you pick the insurance route you can expect your stake back if one selection lets your accumulator down, if you go for the boost, you'll see your potential returns receive a small boost meaning a bit of extra cash in your pocket if it wins.
The 2022 World Cup group stages feature some overwhelming favourites and you’re getting some really short prices for the majority of the groups. For example, Brazil are 4/11 to top their group as are England are France.
The most competitive group is looking to be Group E where Spain come in at 10/11 and Germany are just narrowly behind them at EVS. This group has also been mentioned as one to look for in the “which group will win the World Cup” market.
Denmark could also prove to be decent value to win their group at 11/4 with them being many people’s “dark horse” of the tournament. Unfortunately, it’s tough to bet against France with their recent consistency in major tournaments.
Your best bet is probably to side with the favourites, there always seems to be some shocks in the World Cup but more often than not, the favourite will win their group. Below we’ve picked out each group winner and priced up the eight-fold accumulator.
Group A
Netherlands are the 1/2 favourites here and for good reason. Despite the hosts being in this group, Qatar poses no real threat to any major team and the same can be said for Ecuador and really Senegal as Sadio Mane is a doubt. Netherlands at 1/2 look nailed on to win this one.
Group B
England’s group is up next and as much as it pains us to say it, England should be beating everyone in this group. Iran, USA and Wales are all not on the level of England and the Three Lions are our pick at 4/11 to win their group.
Group C
Following Argentina’s success at the Copa America, they’ve been smashed in in the outright market coming in as the solid 2nd favourites. Their group should be relatively straight forward with Saudi Arabia being one of the worst-ranked teams in the tournament in their group and Poland and Mexico offering no real threat. Argentina are 2/5 to win this group and it’s hard to see them even dropping a point.
Group D
Group D is looking like a more open group than the previously mentioned ones with France and Denmark both looking strong. Unfortunately for France, they’re missing some key players with Pogba, Kante and now Nkunku all missing out. Denmark are a solid side these days but ultimately France do have the depth to go further in this tournament. They’re a short price at 2/5 to top the group but they’re still the much better team.
Group E
Easily the most open group of the tournament coming up here as Spain and Germany will both be duking it out for the top spot. Spain are coming in as the favourites for this group which makes sense considering they’re shorter in the betting, but the value could definitely lie with Germany at EVS. Germany are slowly building a decent side and if you look past their Nations League performances, they went on a 10-game unbeaten streak.
Group F
The odds are suggesting a fairly easy group for Belgium and whilst we might be backing them to win this group, there are some decent teams in here. Canada have actually proved to be quite handy these days and have some solid individuals, Morocco will always have a tricky player in their squad and Croatia have proved time and time again that they’re a solid team. Saying all that Belgium are quite clear of the other teams, the rest of the group could get spicy but expect Belgium to be too much for the other teams.
Group G
This is one of the shortest prices in the whole outright market where Brazil are 1/3 to win their group. They’re the hot tournament favourites and are looking unstoppable these days, on top of that they’re much better than Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon, this should be comfortable for the favourites.
Group H
The last group is looking like the closest thing we have to a group of death but ultimately, Portugal are easily the strongest-looking team in there. Uruguay have always been a decent side but their team is only getting older, Cavani and Suarez are getting on a bit and whilst Nunez looks a good player, I don’t think he’s enough to carry Uruguay all the way. Portugal on paper have a ridiculously good squad with the likes of Ronaldo, Fernandes, Cancelo, Dias, and even Dalot who has hit some great form.
Combining all of these picks makes a 27.96/1 accumulator with William Hill which can then be boosted to 31.88/1 with their acca freedom offer.
