Darts Betting Tips: Three tips for day 9 including 6/1 treble

As day nine of the 2022 World Darts Championship gets underway at Alexandra Palace, @tomsportsjourno is on hand to provide the lowdown ahead of the action.
On day nine, which is the final day of action before the festive break. There’s a high quality double session to look forward to, with a tasty 6/1 treble on-offer which you can load directly using the treble link below.
World Championship Day 9 Tips
Kicking off proceedings on the final day of action before the festive period, Australia’s Damon Heta takes on Worcestershire’s Luke Woodhouse, in what should be a great opener.
Woodhouse battled his way to a 3-1 win over James Wilson, averaging 91.In that win, Woodhouse missed 20 darts at double, and will have to be more clinical in his performance if he’s to trouble the no.31 seed, Damon Heta.
For Heta, it’s been another strong year on-tour, moving up to 31st position in the PDC rankings in his second year on the circuit. His performances on the big stage probably haven’t been as strong as 12 months ago, but his form is really picking up and I’m expecting a positive display from the Australian.
For this opening tie, I’m focusing on the 180’s market, with Heta to hit the most maximums, which can be found at odds of 8/13. In the Players Championship series, this year, Heta produced a whopping 215 maximums, as well as boasting the 11th highest seasonal average (96.31). Comparatively, Woodhouse has hit 133 maximums, although Heta has played 138 legs more than the Worcestershire-based player.
Following Heta and Woodhouse, the ‘History Maker’ Brendan Dolan takes on the very much in form north east ace, Callan Rydz in what should be another tasty tie to get stuck into.
Rydz, who picked up two senior PDC titles in 2021 has produced several stand-out displays this year and if he can reproduce the form he showed in his opening-round victory over Yuki Yamada, he could certainly cause Dolan some problems. However, he'll need to brush up on his checkout accuracy as he missed 14 darts at a double in that win, although he wasn’t really put under any pressure.
As for Dolan, it’s been another strong year for the Irishman, winning on the Players Championship series. Dolan came mightily close to defeating eventual champion Gerwyn Price in the third round just 12 month ago and will fancy his chances in this particular tie.
As he’s produced several big performances on the big stage in 2021, with some stratospheric averages and clinical displays, I’m going for a Callan Rydz win in this one. With a seasonal average of 95.6 and a first 9 average in excess of 105, Rydz most certainly possesses an artillery of heavy scoring power. Comparatively, Dolan has a higher seasonal average (96.29) with a slightly lower first 9 average (104.11)
Callan Rydz is available at odds of 11/10 to win the match.
In the final tie before the festive period, another north east star, Chris Dobey takes on impressive youngster, Rusty-Jake Rodriguez. Rodriguez impressed on his world championship debut, seeing off Ben Robb in a convincing 3-1 win, and despite missing 14 darts at a double, the 20-year old Austrian still averaged a shade under 94, producing six maximums en route.
As for Dobey, whose form on the big stage events is getting better and better, the north east star will really fancy his chances of a strong run at Ally Pally, having reached the last 16 two years ago.
As aforementioned, Rodriguez piled in six maximums in his opening round win, I think Dobey can at least match that number, if not surpass it. In the Players Championship series in 2021, Dobey produced 206 maximums and impressively boasts the fifth highest seasonal average on-tour (98.02) with an impressive seasonal first 9 average of 106.39.
So, with all those aspects taken into careful consideration, this match will surely spoil us with maximums. Over 9.5 180’s between the two players is available at 11/10.
