World Championship Day 6 Tips
Kicking off proceedings on day six at the World Darts Championship, Worcester’s Luke Woodhouse takes on Yorkshire’s James Wilson. Woodhouse has enjoyed another fairly successful year on tour, hitting a nine-darter with several deep runs in tour events and securing his place at Ally Pally due to his consistency on tour.
Woodhouse comes up against a tough competitor in the form of James Wilson, who can be a real force when on song, but the ‘Jammie Dodger’ has endured several injury woes in recent times.
Woodhouse has enjoyed several strong runs on tour this year, reaching two quarter-finals on tour, producing some great stuff against the world’s best.
In this contest, I can’t envision anything other than a Luke Woodhouse win. The Worcestershire man had enjoyed some great times in the World Championship, including a win over Michael Smith and Paul Lim on the biggest of stages.
A Woodhouse win is available at betfair at 8/13.
As ‘The Machine’ continues in his quest to become World Champion for the first time, he faces a tricky customer in the shape of Dutchman, Maik Kuivenhoven, who was impressive in his opening round win over the 19-year old Australian, Ky Smith, averaging 88.
If Kuivenhoven is to cause Wade any issues, he’ll have to increase those levels of performance. But, that said, Kuivenhoven produced seven 180’s in his win over the Aussie.
After digesting all the necessary statistics and current form, I’m going for the Dutchman to hit the most 180’s, which is available at even money. As to whether or not the Dutchman can replicate that sort of form remains to be seen, but either way, it’s a tough opener for James Wade and one which I think he’ll relish.
You can combine the two selections above for a 2.24/1 double.
