Darts Betting Tips: Back this treble on a big day of action at Ally Pally

As the PDC World Darts Championship resumes at the third round stage, our very own darts expert, @tomsportsjourno is on-hand to provide the lowdown ahead of the action on Tuesday.
As the second day of the third round of action is almost upon us, there’s a series of interesting ties to tuck into.
Darts World Championship Day 11 Tips
Kicking off the afternoon’s action on day 11, the impressive Irishman Steve Lennon takes on an experienced Mervyn King, who looks to go on a real run at Ally Pally.
King, who produced an inspired comeback to edge out Ryan Joyce in his opener, faces another tough test in the form of Ireland’s Steve Lennon, who was mightily impressive in his 3-1 win over the much-fancied Pole, Krzysztof Ratajski.
But, Lennon will have to tidy up on his outer-ring accuracy if he’s to cause King any issues, hitting just 9/40 in that win over Ratajski. Mervyn King has had another steady year on-tour and after coming from two sets down in his opener, he’ll be more than confident in securing a last 16 spot.
I think King has too much for Lennon in this one. With his relentless scoring power and reliability on the outer ring will most certainly be a contributing factor. The -1.5 sets handicap in favour of King is available at 8/11.
Following the opening match on day 11, the ever-impressive Ryan Searle takes on Dutchman Danny Noppert in a mouth-watering tie. Searle, who reached the final at the Players Championship Finals in minehead is most certainly looking forward to this one, given his abysmal record against Noppert and is keen to put things right.
Searle made light work of nine-dart hero William Borland in his opening round match, averaging a shade under 92 and never had to come out of first gear, really. As for Noppert, the Dutchman saw off Jason Heaver in a 3-1 win, averaging just over 88, missing 26 darts at a double.
For me, Searle is the better player, right now. More consistent both in the scoring and finishing aspect and I fancy him to do the job here. -1.5 sets handicap in favour of Searle is available at 21/20.
In the final game of the day, three-time world champion, Michael van Gerwen takes on north-east ace, Chris Dobey. Rest assured, the Dutchman is a heavy favourite to progress to the last 16 and rightfully so.
Dobey produced a miraculous fightback from 2-0 to edge past the Austrian debutant, Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, producing some impressive stuff in the latter stages.
But, if Dobey is to cause the green machine any problems at all, he’ll need to produce his a-game, which we’ve seen just what he can produce when he plays to his very best.
As for van Gerwen, the Dutchman impressed in his opening win over Chas Barstow, averaging just under 95, hitting six maximums en route.
As aforementioned, I’m expecting van Gerwen to advance, but I’m also expecting Dobey to put up one hell of a fight. Over 5.5 sets is available at evens.
