Top 10 is the only achievable target for Brighton ahead of the 38th and final gameweek. They currently hold that position, but are one of four clubs with the ability to finish in 10th, along with Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Wolves.
The two Uniteds, Manchester and Newcastle, sit level on 57 points after Erik ten Hag's side marginally brushed through their head-to-head encounter on Wednesday in a 3-2 win for The Red Devils. Given The Magpies' superior goal difference, Man Utd will need to better Newcastle's result in order to at least guarantee a place in next season's Europa Conference League ahead of next weekend's FA Cup final.
Brighton vs Man United Tips
Brighton have been United's bogey team for the last couple of seasons now, going unbeaten in all five of their recent encounters in regular time. Better yet, The Seagulls have administered four defeats to The Red Devils during this run, doing so by three goals to one in their latest meeting back in September at Old Trafford.
United's 3-2 win over Newcastle during midweek was only their second in the last 10 outings. Away from home they're much worse off, taking only two points from their last four away trips, which includes that jaw-dropping 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday Night Football.
Although De Zerbi's men have struggled for form since their European exit in March, they can draw confidence from a recent win over Aston Villa on home turf, as well as a draw with Newcastle before the marginal defeat to Chelsea this week. They'll also be buoyed by the fact that they've had United's number in each of the last four league meetings, and that ten Hag's side are likely to value next weekend's FA Cup final more highly than this final league game.
Boasting a goal and an assist in his last two games, Joao Pedro is the type of player who can be the difference maker in a game like this.
The Brazilian 22-year-old has rung up 20 goals in his debut season for The Seagulls, making his presence known at Old Trafford eight months ago by notching Brighton's third.
Things look somewhat brighter for the travellers now that talisman Bruno Fernandes has returned to the fray. United look like a hollow shell without his presence, which is certainly saying something considering how they're nowhere close to being world beaters with him in the team either.
The midfielder has picked up eight yellows in the Premier League this term, amassing a total of 10 across all competitions. One of these came against Brighton in the aforementioned 3-1 defeat - the same circumstances that have befallen Fernandes for six of his eight league bookings.
When things don't go United's way, Bruno acts out. He has a really bad temperament and that petulance does not lend itself well to tricky away matches.
