With two games remaining of the domestic campaign, Brighton sit tenth in the top-flight table. The Seagulls could finish ninth, however with several sides just below on similar points totals, they could still drop to as low as 13th. It’s not been the season many hoped for on the South Coast, but after losing several high-profile figures last summer, a top-half finish is still very respectable.
Chelsea secured a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last Saturday which saw the West London club rise to seventh. After a disastrous first half of the season, Chelsea have improved and a spot in the Europa League for the following campaign looks likely. Prior to Wednesday’s matches the Blues are level on points with Newcastle in sixth and three ahead of Manchester United in eight, albeit the Red Devils do have a much inferior goal difference.
Brighton vs Chelsea Tips
Chelsea have been somewhat of a Jekyll and Hyde team for a large proportion of this season, with punters unable to put their trust in them. Over recent months however, things have started to improve at Stamford Bridge and the team look to be gaining an identity, albeit with a very young and inexperienced squad.
As a result we are backing the visitors to get the win on Wednesday, with a generous looking 11/10 available at an industry top-price of 11/10 with BetMGM. In 2024, only Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool have picked up more points than Chelsea and looking back, they have only suffered defeat once in their last 13 top-flight matches. Poch’s side have racked up three straight wins, scoring multiple goals in all of them and are in the kind of form where they won’t want the season to end.
Brighton’s struggle for goals of late has been well documented and despite picking up a point on the road at Newcastle on Saturday we think they will be turned over here. Roberto de Zerbi’s men have failed to score more than once in each of their last 14 matches across all competitions.
At 7/1, we’ve also picked out a double with Nicolas Jackson to Score anytime and Cole Palmer to provide an assist anytime. Jackson has received some criticism for his finishing this season, but he has has been directly involved in five goals in his last three Premier League games for Chelsea (4 goals, 1 assist),
A tally of 14 league goals already this term, none of which have been penalties, is not bad at all in his first season in England, and with four goals in his last three matches he can continue his good form here.
Cole Palmer’s decision to make the switch from Manchester City to Chelsea has been a sensational one as he’s been given regular game-time and has improved his chances of being included in Gareth Southgate’s England side.
Palmer has scored 21 league goals, but it’s the assist market we like the look of his price here. In total, the 22-year-old has racked up 10 assists in 27 league starts and can turn provider once more against a Brighton side who have only won one of their last eight (W1 D3 L4).
