ATP Finals Day 6 Tips
Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev
Our first match of the day sees Carlos Alcaraz face Daniil Medvedev, which pits together two former number one's.
This is the Alcaraz's first ever ATP Finals tournament; he currently has one win and one loss to his name this week.
On the other hand, this is Medvedev's fifth ATP Finals tournament, which he won back in 2020 going 5-0 with wins against Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Diego Schwartzman, Rafael Nadal, and Dominic Thiem.
He'll be happy with his performances this week compared to the previous year, where he lost all his matches in a three set tie break.
This week Medvedev has been breezing past his opponents, beating fellow Russian Andrey Rublev 6-4 6-2 and then Alexander Zverev 7-6 6-4.
Medvedev is already into the semi finals, but needs to beat Alcaraz to top the group.
The pair have faced each other a total of four times so far, with the majority coming this year where the Spaniard has won two of the three games they have played. The current head-to-head record is 2-2.
I think Medvedev has looked very strong this week, and I think he's going to carry on with that with a win against Alcaraz. I have this as a 50/50 match-up, so the 13/10 odds that we're seeing are showing some value.
Andrey Rublev vs Alexander Zverev
Next up we have Andrey Rublev facing Alexander Zverev.
Rublev will be pretty disappointed with his week so far, after he made the semi finals this time last year. He's failed to win a single set so far this week, losing both matches to Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz.
Now he'll be facing Zverev who will be desperate for a win if he is to get out the group stages.
The former 2021 ATP Finals winner surprised many this week after beating World Number 2 Carlos Alcaraz in three sets.
The German played excellent tennis, and deserved that win.
Money is currently coming in for Rublev, which surprises me. I think Zverev should be close to 1/2 here, and the 8/11 odds that we're seeing are a must-take.
