Heading into the weekend, Arsenal sit one point above Manchester City in the table, but have played one game more than their title rivals. With their game getting underway at lunchtime, the Gunners have the chance to put the pressure back on Pep Guardiola’s side before City take on Wolves at 5:30pm.
Bournemouth have eclipsed their best ever Premier League points tally in what has been a hugely successful campaign under their stewardship of their Basque-born boss Andoni Iraola. The Cherries are 10th in the top-flight standings and could jump above West Ham into 9th should they pull off an upset on Saturday.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth Tips
Cast your minds back to August and the transfer of Kai Havertz to Arsenal was being questioned by many fans and pundits. However, the German attacker has become one of the key pillars behind Arsenal’s success this campaign and has provided 12 league goals and six assists putting in some of his best displays in recent weeks.
It’s the shots on target market that I have been drawn to here, and looking at Havertz’s shooting data, he has recorded at least one between the sticks in his last 13 league starts. This line of Over 1.5 on target has been cleared in three of his last four, and with just 5/4 on offer to find the net, I think the 9/5 for Over 1.5 on target makes more appeal. In comparison, Sky Bet go just 4/5 on the same selection.
I feel Bournemouth have the ability to be a potential banana skin for Arsenal and I can see them causing problems. They may have not managed a win in their first nine league matches but the Premier League table since the start of November has them fifth in points collected.
Justin Kluivert has registered as many goal involvements in his last six Premier League games (3 goals, 1 assist) as he had in his first 23 in the competition (4 goals). The son of Patrick Kluivert will be up against Ben White on Saturday and could cause the right-back a few issues.
White is best priced at 6/1 with BetMGM to find his way into the referee’s notebook here which looks way too big in this must win game for Arsenal. The defender has collected eight yellow cards in the league this term and digging a bit deeper, five of those have arrived in just 15 home league starts. With a one in three ratio on home soil for yellow cards this season and a generous 6/1 on offer, I make this a value proposition
