Kylian Mbappe won the award in 2022 after his final hat-trick propelled his tally to eight goals, Harry Kane (six) won in 2018, while James Rodriguez (six) finished top of the pile four years earlier. Odds will be priced up nearer the time of the tournament.

England World Cup Odds

The bookmakers have priced England at 7/1 to win the 2026 World Cup, behind favourites Brazil, France, and Euro 2024 champions Spain.

England's one and only success remains World Cup 1996. They reached the semi-finals in 2018 and the quarter-finals in 2022, while they have finished runners-up at the most recent editions of the European Championships.
