49ers @ Cowboys Betting Tips: Cowboys to edge this NFC clash with history

As part of our expanding sports coverage here at BettingOdds.com we have a weekly NFL Acca and also match previews and betting tips for all the playoff games, leading right up to Superbowl LVI, which you can find on our NFL page. We've asked our US sports specialist @OddsTerrier to check out the San Francisco 49ers trip to the Dallas Cowboys and provide two picks for your attention.
This game has a lot of history, dating all the way back to the 1970s and was taken to a new level in 1981 during the NFC Championship game, where Joe Montana completed a game winning pass to Dwight Clark in the final minute. 'The Catch' is still to this day one of the most famous NFL games of all time. The rivalry only intensified in the early 90s when either the Niners or the Cowboys were Superbowl Champions from 1992 to 1995 and each time the winner had to go through their NFC rival in the Championship game. 2021 is the first time that both teams have faced each other in the post season since 1998 and the feelings of hatred will no doubt return here.
I've had a look at this historic game and have picked out two selections that may be of interest.
San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys Betting Tips
There are a LOT of people picking the 49ers here. I've read so many times this week that the Niners will simply grind out the run offense and keep QB Dak Prescott off the field. However, there is a reason that the Cowboys are 12-5 and the 49ers scraped in to the playoffs in overtime. I expect San Fran to make it really difficult for Dallas but they simply have too much firepower to keep them quiet for the whole four quarters.
The Cowboys offense leads the NFL in yards AND points and have scored 129 points in the last three game weeks. They also have a superb defense which has been transformed by English D-Line coach Aden Durde. They will be right up against it in Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and co but I think the Cowboys win by one touchdown here. 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo continues to be limited by an injured thumb and didn't take part in full practice.
I'll be taking the Cowboys with a -3.5 spread at 11/10 with SBK. It's as short as 19/20 at most other bookies.
Next up we've gone for a little Touchdown treble long-shot. We've combined the three biggest threats from both teams and the good people at Unibet have boosted it up to a generous 12/1 shot.
Ezekiel Elliott hasn't been his best these last few seasons but he has been used as a bit of a redzone enforcer this year. He has ten rushing touchdowns which puts him 7th in the league amongst RB's. I can see CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz getting the Cowboys down the field and Zeke smashing it in to the end zone.
Wideout Deebo Samuel has been a revelation this season. He's gone for 1405 receiving yards and 365 rushing yards and '19 problemz' is a problem for any team. He's gone for a combined 14 TD's in 2021 and it's just a question of if he's going to beat you short or long.
Lastly we've gone for Niners tight end George Kittle. The three time Pro-Bowler hasn't been as dominant this year in a rush-heavy offense but has still gone for 910 yards in 14 games and has snaffled 6 TD's. He's a reliable target when in the red zone and I expect Jimmy G to be picking him out.
