Match Stats
Here we go again...12 years after the hugely dramatic quarter-final clash at the 2010 World Cup, Ghana and Uruguay meet again.
Back in South Africa, the countries met for a place in the semi-finals. Ghana took the lead through Sulley Muntari in first-half injury time, only for Diego Forlan to equalise shortly after the break. No more goals followed in normal time, but in the dying seconds of extra-time Ghana won a penalty after Luis Suarez's deliberate handball on the goalline.
With history in his sights Ghana's Asamoah Gyan then agonisingly missed his spot-kick, meaning the game went to penalties. Uruguay won to seal their first World Cup semi-final in 40 years, breaking Ghana - and African - hearts.
