Fourth favourites for World Cup glory, England get their campaign underway against Iran on Monday 21st November.
England are without a win in a whopping six matches heading into the World Cup, however, they have been priced up as short as 3/10 to get back to winning ways in their opener, in a game they will be keen to pick up three points pretty resoundingly ahead of clashes against the USA and Wales.
Golden Boot favourite Harry Kane will fancy his chances of opening his account; you can find his first goalscorer, anytime goalscorer. and shots on target prices in our match zone below.
As semi-finalists in the last World Cup in Russia and then losing finalists at the Euros last year on penalties, England are trading as fourth favourites for the 2022 World Cup behind Brazil, France, and Argentina.
Iran, led by manager Carlos Queiroz, are one of the rank outsiders for the tournament but do have experience in the conditions and qualified for the World Cup finals as top of their group ahead of the likes of South Korea and the UAE.
This will be the first time England have ever played Iran and a lot of the squad will not be known to the England players. Brentford's Sam Ghoddos has over 30 caps for his country and there's a mix of home-based and abroad players in the Iranian squad.
Up front Sardar Azmoun is Iran's spearhead with 40 goals to his name at international level and plays for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. Alireza Jahanbakhsh will be known to Brighton fans and he's currently plying his trade back in the Dutch league where he's been successful. Alireza Beiranvand is the goalkeeper who plays for Boavista in Portugal while their captain Ehsan Hajsafi is a midfielder for AEK Athens.
