Match Stats
The teams have only ever met once before, in a friendly back in 2002 where Senegal came away the 1-0 winners.
Ecuador qualified for the finals in fourth place in South American qualifying and have a good young squad with many of the team involved in the country's South American U20 Championship in 2019. Moises Caceido plays for Brighton in the Premier League but may of the team ply their trade in South and North America.
Senegal are in great form coming into the World Cup finals having won the African Cup of Nations at the start of 2022 and also come through a two legged play-off in qualification against Egypt, the team they beat on penalties in the AFCON final.
