Super League Odds
In the Northern Hemisphere, the Super League is the premier professional rugby league competition. Consisting of twelve teams, the competition has seen many restructures and innovations since its inception in 1996. The sport of rugby league in the Northern Hemisphere was played in the winter months until the drastic change which took the sport full time professional thanks to the money brought in by a bumper exclusive television rights deal with Sky Sports. Despite the introduction at Super League's birth of a salary cap, predominantly to stop a repeat of the previous decade in which Wigan strode to title after title over their less wealthy rivals, the Super League era has only seen four teams crowned champions. They are the aforementioned Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Leeds and the now relegated Bradford.
Super League is often in a state of flux and with a recent deal signed with commercial giants IMG, changes are once again on the horizon. For the 2023 season, however, the same format will apply as it has in the last few years. The team finishing bottom of the pile will be relegated, the team finishing top will be crowned league leaders and the overall champion will be determined via a play-off series, which culminates in a Grand Final at Old Trafford in October.

Who is the favourite to win the 2023 Super League?
It is not often a team comes into a season off the back of four successive titles, but that is the honour and pressure facing the class of 2023 from St Helens. The Saints are the most successful team in Super League history with ten titles and have forged a real dynasty of late, being the best side by some margin from 2018-2022. In this period they have undergone a coaching change when Kristian Woolf replaced Justin Holbrook in 2019 but the success continued to come.
Now Woolf has returned to his native Australia, Saints have opted for rookie head coach and legendary full back for the Red Vee Paul Wellens to take over as boss. Wellens has served quite the apprenticeship in the backroom staff at both his club and for his country, but this season will be a real acid test of his credentials. They are the correct favourites and have by far the most exciting young player in the league in Jack Welsby in their ranks, along with a host of other stars, but this could be their most testing season yet.
Wigan Warriors were rejuvenated last season and will look to build on 2022 Challenge Cup success to hunt down their big rivals, Leeds Rhinos have had their first full pre-season under Rohan Smith after defying the odds to make the 2022 Grand Final despite a shocking start to the season, and the big spending Warrington Wolves have again splashed the cash in the hope of an elusive first title. Catalans Dragons and Salford should both be in the mix too and a thrilling season awaits.

Betting on the 2023 Super League
There are plenty of ways to bet on and enjoy the Super League both before the season kicks off or as the action unfolds.
The odds to win the Grand Final, just like those to win the League Leaders Shield or to be relegated, will of course change over time as games progress and teams show they are set for a delightful or disappointing campaign. If punters have a strong opinion on a team doing well or badly from the off, it could be a good idea to back them antepost before things kick off and the hunches are proven correct. Bookmakers also have a range of team specific specials on-site which are worth shopping around for.
Individual awards such as the top tryscorer accolade or the prestigious Steve Prescott Man Of Steel award, crowning the competition's best player, have odds available as well and since the change to the voting structure to this award there have been some big priced winners from lesser teams. In 2022 Brodie Croft of Salford took out the award and was available at 50/1 before things kicked off, while in 2021 Paul McShane scooped the gong having been a big price in January of that year.

Don't forget to consider the risks involved in betting. It's always possible that your chosen team may not perform as well as you had hoped, so be sure to only bet an amount that you are comfortable losing.
It's important to note that betting on The Six Nations, or any other form of gambling, carries inherent risks and should be approached with caution. Be sure to gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose.
