Team Profiles:
Brazil
To Qualify: 1/10
To Win Group G: 1/2
To Win World Cup: 5/1
World Cup appearances: 22 (Every Renewal)
Best performance: Winners (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002)
Head Coach: Tite
Star player: Neymar (PSG)
Golden Boot favourite: Neymar (PSG) - 74 Int. goals - 20/1
Our verdict: Brazil are the current favourites with most bookmakers and it's easy to see why when you look at their squad. Starting with two world-class goalkeepers in Ederson and Alisson the spine of this team looks solid. Marquinhos, Fabinho, and Casemiro all provide a perfect foundation for the attacking players in Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Richarlison, and Raphinha. Brazil have not been eliminated in the group stages since 1966 and they should qualify with relative ease with fixtures against Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon. This side has an excellent blend of youth and experience and we fancy them to go all the way to the final in Qatar and wouldn't put anyone off taking the 5/1 on them winning their sixth World Cup title.
Team Profiles:
Switzerland
To Qualify: 21/20
To Win Group G: 5/1
To Win World Cup: 80/1
World Cup appearances: 12
Best performance: Quarter-Finals (1934, 1938, 1954)
Head Coach: Murat Yakin
Star player: Granit Xhaka (Arsenal)
Golden Boot favourite: Breel Embolo (Monchengladbach) - 9 Int. goals - 100/1
Our verdict: After advancing from the group stages at the most recent European Championships thanks to being one of the best third-place finishers, Switzerland went on to defeat France on penalties after a memorable 3-3 draw. They were then knocked out in the quarter-finals and also went out at the Round of 16 in Russia back in 2018. We can see them edging through this Group once again with potential victories over Serbia and Cameroon in what could be incredibly tight matches.
Team Profiles:
Serbia
To Qualify: 5/4
To Win Group G: 6/1
To Win World Cup: 150/1
World Cup appearances: 2 (Since being Serbia, 2010 onwards)
Best performance: Group Stages (2010, 2014)
Head Coach: Dragan Stojkovic
Star player: Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus)
Golden Boot favourite: Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus) - 7 Int. goals - 40/1
Our verdict: With forwards Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic at their disposal Serbia have the ability to cause Switzerland and Cameroon serious problems in the final third. We think it will be tight for who qualifies along with Brazil from Group G but feel Switzerland just have the edge with their recent tournament experience at the Euros.
Team Profiles:
Cameroon
To Qualify: 11/4
To Win Group G: 11/1
To Win World Cup: 250/1
World Cup appearances: 8
Best performance: Quarter-Finals (1990)
Head Coach: Rigobert Song
Star player: Vincent Aboubakar (Al Nassr)
Golden Boot favourite: Vincent Aboubakar (Al Nassr) - 33 Int. goals - 200/1
Our verdict: No other African side has qualified for the World Cup more than Cameroon, but they face a tough challenge this time round with favourites Brazil and two European sides who have raised their game in recent years. Just like in Russia four years ago, we expect Cameroon to fail to make it past the group stage.
