Watford vs Norwich Prediction and Betting Tips: Porteous to be carded in 10/1 double

Six Championship matches take place on Tuesday evening with Watford against Norwich being the live offering on Sky Sports main event.

After 17 matches in the second-tier Watford find themselves 15th in the table. Valerien Ismael’s side were on course to collect a point away at league leaders Leicester City on Saturday with 15 minutes to go, before a Jamie Vardy brace handed the Foxes a 2-0 win.

Norwich sit just two points ahead of Watford in the standings heading into Tuesday’s encounter. The Canaries edged out Queens Park Rangers 1-0 on their most recent outing, with Hwang Ui-Jo scoring the only goal of the game at Carrow Road. 

Watford are the 11/10 favorites to come away with all three points at Vicarage Road, while the draw can be backed at 5/2. For those who fancy an away win for David Wagner’s side, 13/5 is available with several firms.

We like the look of Watford to come out victorious in this Championship class and have decided to get behind the 11/10 that is available for the win. 

Norwich may be higher than the Hornets in the league table and also won their last two matches, but those victories came over Cardiff and 23rd placed Queens Park Rangers.

A trip to Watford should prove a much stiffer test on Tuesday and prior to their defeat to Leicester last weekend, Watford had gone six games unbeaten in the league (W3 D3). They are unbeaten in three matches in front of their own fans and can come out on top in what could be a closely fought contest.

We’ve also picked out a duo of two players to be carded. It’s a 10/1 double that we are backing on Sky Bet, which on first glance looks a little short for two different players to be booked, however we think this one could have more legs than the odds suggest.

The first of those is Watford’s Ryan Porteous. Only three players in The Championship have been shown more yellow cards this season than the Scot, who has racked up seven in just 14 appearances!

The second half of our double is for Shane Duffy to be carded. The 31-year-old central defender has been cautioned in five of his 15 league outings this term, and combining him with Porteous pays 10/1.
