Switzerland vs. Cameroon Betting Tips: Side with Choupo-Moting in the shots market

Switzerland face Cameroon in the first game on Day 5 of the World Cup in Qatar and we’ve got @AnthonyEadson on hand to preview the action and provide us with two bets he likes the look of.
The Swiss have made it out of the group stages in all of the last four major tournaments and this time round they have been drawn in Group G along with the favorites Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia.
Switzerland knocked out World Champions France at last summer’s European Championship and are priced at 10/11 with bet365 to make it to the knockout stages of this tournament in Qatar.
Cameroon failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and have finished bottom of their group in both of their last two appearances in 2010 and 2014. The Indomitable Lions finished third at the Africa Cup of Nations last year and can be found at 4/1 with most bookmakers to make it out of Group G.
Taking a look at the match odds for this game and the Swiss are the odds-on favourites to take all three points, priced at 8/11 to do so. For those who fancy the draw, 12/5 is available, while a win for Cameroon can be backed at 9/2.
Switzerland vs Cameroon Tips
Both of our tips for Switzerland against Cameroon centre around Eric Choupo-Moting, with the first of those being for him to record Over 1.5 shots in the match at even money (1/1) with bet365.
It’s been quite some career for Choupo-Moting and in his last nine starts for Bayern Munich he has registered 24 shots, 16 of which have hit the target. A player who seems to be excelling at the age of 33, his recent performances suggest we may be the man to lead Cameroon out of the group stages and we are backing him to record Over 1.5 shots against the Swiss.
As mentioned above the Bayern Munich forward has been in fantastic form this season scoring six Bundesliga goals in his last six matches along with another three goals in the Champions League this term. Choupo-Moting scored in a friendly last week against Panama and looks a little overpriced at 5/1 considering he should start the game as the main striker for Cameroon.
We’ll also be doubling this up with Granit Xhaka via the Bet Builder feature over at bet365 which takes us up to a very backable 14.75/1 when combined with Choupo-Moting to score. Granit Xhaka has been carded at each of the last four major tournaments and with him reverting back to a more defensive midfield role in contrast to the one at Arsenal he’s been given this season, we expect the tackles to be flying in.
Did you know that bet365 pay your team out as a winner if they go 2 goals ahead at any time in the match (available on over 80 leagues and competitions, T&C's apply). Find out more on our bet365 offers page.
