Spain vs. Costa Rica Betting Tips: Morata a generous price to be caught offside

Spain face Costa Rica on Wednesday with four matches in total taking place at the World Cup on Day 4. Our man @AnthonyEadson is on hand with two tips for the game that he likes the look of.
Spain won three major tournaments between 2008 and 2012 but since then have failed to make it to the quarter-final stage of a World Cup tournament. Luis Enrique’s side arrive in Qatar priced at 10/1 to lift the trophy on 18 December but bookmakers see them dispatching of Costa Rica with relative ease in their opening fixture, priced at just 1/7 to take all three points.
Costa Rica will feel a little hard done by to end up in a Group with both Spain and Germany, Japan are the other side in Group E, and Luis Fernandez Suarez’s side will look to take inspiration from 2014 when they topped a group that featured England, Italy and Uruguay. For those who fancy the Costa Ricans to cause an upset in their opener, 20/1 is on show with certain firms, while 10/1 is available for those who fancy them to make it to the knockout stages.

Alvaro Morata Over 0.5 Offside Infringements
The first selection I’m recommending for Spain vs Costa Rica is for Alvaro Morata to be caught offside at least once in the game. This bet can be found by going to the match area on Unibet, and navigating to ‘Advanced Stats’, where you will find 5/4 on show.
Spain expected to dominate this match with Morata as their main striker, this odds-against price does make appeal. Looking back at his recent performances for his club, and If you take out the game against Caidz in which he was subbed 10 minutes into the match, the 5/4 looks even stronger when we can see that this selection has landed in seven of Morata’s last eight starts. In total the striker has been caught offside 16 times in 16 starts across the Champions League and La Liga in 2022/2023 for Atletico Madrid.
A Penalty to be awarded
At the time of writing three penalties have been awarded in just four matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and for our second selection we are backing one to be awarded in Spain vs Costa Rica at 11/5 with Unibet.
