FPL and Spread Betting on Spreadex
The new Premier League season means Fantasy Premier League will also be returning! Read on for FPL players to keep an eye on and how spread betting works on this market on Spreadex.
Mo Salah is set to be the highest FPL points scorer next season according to Spreadex Sports. The St Albans-based spread betting firm have predicted the Egyptian wizard to bag 227 points this season under new man Arne Slot, with the former Chelsea man bagging 211 points last season.
Just behind Salah are Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka who are both predicted to score 225 points having hauled 217 and 226 in 2023/24 respectively.
Last season’s top points scorer was Cole Palmer, who enjoyed a breakout season after his move to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City. Fresh off a summer which saw him score the equalizer in the Euro 2024 final, the 22-year-old isn’t expected to be quite so productive this season with the points spread of 210-220 indicating an expected points total of 215.
Finally, one man who is a regular FPL pick is Trent Alexander Arnold and he is expected to bounce back from an injury hit campaign to reclaim his place as the highest scoring defender. Priced at £7.0m, Trent could well be deployed in midfield this season and his points spread is 164-174.
For an example of how spread betting works on this market, if you bought Trent FPL points at 174 for £1 a point and the scouse schemer replicated his points haul of 208 from 2021/22, you would have been right by 34 points so you would win £34.
Kevin De Bruyne had an injury hit 2023/24 season, but the talismanic midfielder is expected to top the assist charts this season in the Premier League.
That’s according to Spreadex Sports at least, who have priced up over a hundred players in their popular player assists spread betting market. KDB laid on ten goals last season in the top flight but they came in just 18 matches with Spreadex pricing his assist spread at 14-15.5.
Topping the charts last season was Ollie Watkins who enjoyed a stellar year as he helped power his Aston Villa side into the Champions League with 13 assists. However, this season, Spreadex are anticipating a big drop off for the former Exeter City man with an assist spread of 5.75-6.75. That means that if you bought at 6.75 for a £1 stake, and he replicated his performance of 13 last season, you would have been correct by 6.25 so you would come away with a win of £6.25.
One player to look out for amongst the new boys is Leif Davis who plays left back for Ipswich. Granted, the Tractor Boys are unlikely to get forward as much this season as they step up a level, but the left back has impressed over recent seasons and his assist spread is 5-6 with Spreadex already seeing plenty of action from Ipswich fans.
Amongst the other runners and riders to top the assist charts are Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard and Cole Palmer (all 10-11.5), whilst Bruno Fernandes with a spread of 10.5-12 is the man expected to get closest to De Bruyne.
