Sheffield United vs Liverpool Tips
Our first bet will be in the Player of the Match market and we’re siding with Mo Salah here. The Egyptian king is averaging the highest match rating in the Liverpool squad and has won four player of the matches this season with Andy Robertson being the only other player to win one for Liverpool.
Given that Liverpool are massive favourites to win this one, you’d expect to see Salah on the scoresheet here. SkyBet are actually pricing him at 4/6 to score anytime and if he is to find himself with a goal or two and maybe even an assist, he should be ranked as the highest player.
This award is settled on OPTA's scoring system for whoever is the highest-ranked player on the field in the game. Given Mo Salah's average rating is 7.54, you can see why we're siding with him. Liverpool are the 1/7 favourites here and there's certainly some good value in betting on the player of the match.
Next up we've taken a look at the player to be carded market and Gustavo Hamer has caught our eye. The midfielder/defender has been booked on three occasions in the Premier League so far and we're backing him to get another against Liverpool.
Hamer has 13 appearances in the league for Sheffield United and in those games he's averaging 1.3 fouls per game, a figure that I can see increasing against Liverpool. The Reds' relentless attacking style will certainly cause problems for The Blades and with them being expected to have the majority of possession, it will be up to Hamer to try and win back the ball.
He will also be tasked with defending against Salah, Nunez and a player like Gakpo or Jota. It's safe to say either of those four players do not make it easy for defenders and he'll most likely be fouling them on at least one occasion.
I can see this game getting away from Sheff Utd really quickly which could potentially result in a loss of composure from their players, Hamer seems to be one of the more reckless players in their side and 9/4 looks a good price for him to pick up a booking.
