Report: The clubs that have spent the most on young players in the past 5 years

With just under two weeks remaining of the transfer window, the team at BettingOdds.com have conducted a study to find out which teams in Europe’s top five leagues (Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, Premier League & Serie A) in the past five years have spent and made the most money from buying and selling players of the age of 21 or younger.
It’s been found that Manchester City (£207m) as well as their local rivals Manchester United (£204.5m) are amongst the top ten clubs who have spent the most on young players. However it’s Juventus (£324.2m), Barcelona (£290.5m) and Real Madrid (£288.1m) who make up the top three positions.
Manchester City (£130.8m) were found to be amongst the sides who have earned the most from sales of young players over the same period of time, along with fellow Premier League sides Liverpool (£78.1m) and Chelsea (£65.2m).
Borussia Dortmund (£300.7m) have made more than any club in Europe’s top five leagues from the sales of young players. Monaco (£168.6m) and Juventus (£161.9m) come second and third on the list respectively.
