Report: Almost £300 million worth of former Chelsea academy players are currently playing elsewhere

The future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is up in the air after he was left out of the starting eleven to face Leicester City on Saturday. If Rashford was to depart the club this summer, then he would be the biggest academy player to depart the club since Paul Pogba left as a free agent for Juventus in 2012. This speculation got the team at BettingOdds.com thinking about which current Premier League clubs have the highest collective value of former academy players that are still active and have left the club on a permanent basis.
We discovered that Chelsea currently have almost £300 million worth of former academy talent playing elsewhere, notably Declan Rice (£67.5m) at West Ham and Tammy Abraham (£40.5m) at Roma. This is the largest collective value out of all current Premier League clubs.
The remainder of the top five are made up of Manchester City (£201.2m), Arsenal (£164.8m), Liverpool (£163.7m) and Southampton (£159.2m), whilst Burnley sit bottom of the list, with just £1.1m worth of former academy talent playing elsewhere.
Manchester United are sixth in the list (£141.7m), with their summer signing Jadon Sancho being the most valuable ex-academy player for both Manchester City and Watford.
