Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso deployed a five-man defence in his team's victory over RB Salzburg and he is expected to stick with that strategy for this clash, with recent arrival Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fran Garcia as the wing-backs.

Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Eder Militao, Eduardo Camavinga, Ferland Mendy and Endrick are all injured, while Kylian Mbappe remains a doubt due to gastroenteritis.

Defender Raul Asencio is available after serving a one-match ban and could take the place of Antonio Rudiger.

Juventus are without the injured pair of Mattia Perin and Juan Cabal. Captain Manuel Locatelli started the defeat to Manchester City after an ankle problem and is expected to keep his place.
