Rangers vs. Celtic Predictions: Two best bets for Sunday's crucial Old Firm clash

Rangers welcome Celtic to Ibrox Sunday lunchtime, with the table topping clash being shown live on Sky Sports.
The Old Firm is always a massive fixture, but with just the 3 points separating these two sides ahead of Kick off there is a feeling the winner here could go on to be crowned champions come the end of the season.
Rangers will have to put out a much better performance than the one they did in the reverse at Celtic Park if they are to stop Celtic going 6 points clear at the top. They were humiliated 3-0 by Ange Postecoglu’s side In February, a result they can’t afford to happen again. However, since this defeat Rangers’ form is keeping them in the race for the title – a run of 7 games unbeaten keeps them 3 points adrift of their rivals.
Celtic haven’t tasted defeat in the League since September – a 1-0 away defeat at the helm of Livingston, meaning they top the charts for most points gathered away from home. 31 games unbeaten (W27, D4) domestically for the away side is more than impressive also considering they are averaging 2.09 goals per game during this spell. A win here wouldn’t come as a surprise to many.
The hosts will be without top goalscorer Alfredo Morelos as he returned from duty with Columbia on crutches, which is a huge blow. Rangers remain undefeated at Ibrox this season but don’t face tests this tough on a regular basis, and could struggle Vs one of the in-form sides Europe has to offer.
Rangers vs. Celtic Tips
Bookies have Rangers at 4/5 favourites to collect the most corners here, but I am happy to oppose that given some of the data behind Celtics corner numbers.
My assumption would be the hosts are favourites for the corners as the emphasis is on them to win the game from the get-go, but I don’t feel Celtic will necessarily play for a point as maybe some people expect.
Celtic have had more corners than their opponents in all of there last 27 league games, which is quite impressive. They have a League average of 9.65 corners per game, in comparison to Rangers who average just shy of 8 (7.97).
I expect Celtic to play the same style of football that has been so good for them in these last few months. Playing with lots of width and the ability to keep the ball on the front foot should hopefully give us a chance at a winner in the corner market.
Card prices are understandably short for this fixture given the importance of the game and the magnitude of the derby, but one player who does stand out for a booking is Rangers Right back James Tavernier at 4/1.
He’s been carded 9 times in the Scottish Premiership this season, which is more than any other Rangers or Celtic player. 4/1 price itself seems value, when he’s been carded 9 out of 29 league appearances, I am surprised to see him as one of the longest players for a caution.
